the spot we lost power on a overpass, but Jerry got it down there by the green sign out of the lane.
Dunsmuir is a railroad town. We found out Amtrak goes through here on the train we were on. But it’s in the middle of the night so we didn’t know that .

One of our favorite stores is the hardware store. It’s been there since 1894. You walk in and the first thing you notice is the tin ceiling.

Jerry loves hardware stores, don’t all men?

I liked this. Do you see Jerry back there is still looking

The houses have lost some of their charm since we were here last. This one was all decked out for Halloween. Notice the macabre doll on a swing. I love the rock wall.

I think there aren’t a lot of rules about colors of paint to use on you house.

our first visit here was 2010. The people haven’t changed but the town has a little.
If we get up this way again we’ll be sure to stop by.
stay tuned

I love that little cabinet with the drawer handles. Future project!? Hope the next stretch of road holds only good adventures and no more repair shops!
love your banner…you look so happy. Very interesting posts. I love those old homey towns. I’m enjoying the ride.
Sorry, that last comment was from me – Sharon
What a charming town! Your whole trip could be a valuable contribution to a record of American life, past and present. Your children and grandchildren, and especially your great-grandchildren are sure to treasure the insights and artistry you provide, all in the spirit of the loving joy that characterizes you both
Not only men are fascinated by hardware stores! I love to wander the aisles, wondering at the human ingenuity that produces such elegantly useful items. Not that I have a clue myself about how to work with them 😂
The homes are charming, but the Halloween decorations do have a sameness in most places across the country, which can detract from neighborhood uniqueness. Still, I think your pics would make anyone want to stop for a visit to this lovely town
Dunsmuir a lovely town. So Americana. Loved the hardware store from the unique ceiling to the vintage cabinet with all the drawers. Yes, Jerry is no different from most men. They can spend hours in a hardware store, and this one so unique. Loved the rock wall. So glad you stopped there again and shared it with us. You always see the special sites most people dismiss. Thanks. Love, Celia
Truly loved the hardware store pics- Ray would have been right there next to Jerry all day long!
