One of my favorite things to do, any time any place is to walk through a garden. We have been so lucky to see some of the most beautiful gardens in the United States. But one of the best is in Victoria, BC. It is the most spectacular Bouchard Gardens. I know there are many others, but unfortunately we probably won’t get to see those.
We have been to the Oregon Gardens before and enjoyed it so much we were looking forward to visiting it again while we are up here. We stayed at the resort on the grounds again, it was a nice alternative from an Airbnb, albeit a little more expensive.

The lobby is like walking into someone’s comfortable home. It hadn’t changed at all. There’s a restaurant there also, which we ate at both nights. Very nice, delightful, and delicious.
They also serve a complimentary breakfast that was so good, everything you could want and then some. Especially the potatoes, I’m a sucker for potatoes.😋
After that great breakfast, we walked into the gardens. It was a nice morning, a little overcast, not hot yet so very pleasant to walk among the beautiful landscaping.

Handmade art is scattered throughout the gardens, here are two examples

ducks made with old golf clubs⬆️

I liked this in the children’s garden. I keep saying I want to recreate it someday with all my pots.

We enjoyed every minute in the gardens. A lot of walking but there were plenty of places to sit, rest, maybe even meditate at this lovely spot. It’s looking towards Portland in the Willamette valley, an hour away.

that’s the resort in the background. I love this picture because you can see the art piece of horses in the foreground.
We left the next day to see Jessica and Carter in Portland and I will post some pictures from that
stay tuned if you’re interested

thanks Rosemary. What’s delight to get such positive comments. 💗
Beautiful. You always find the most unique places to stay. That resort looks so cozy and how wonderful to wake up right in the garden.
thanks Tracy, maybe in your travels to see the girls, you’ll have a chance to visit the gardens.
wow grammie the pics you took are beautiful! my favorite flower is the one that looks like a giant pink dandelion. the place you are staying at looks super cool too! i’m glad you guys are having a good time. i love you! 💗emily cunningham
Breathtaking gardens. Your eye for the right pictures is infallible.
Each picture you took captures a unique beauty of nature. I really like the children garden and the hydrangea ones. I’m happy you had a really nice time there! We hope when Emily and Amy are done with school, we’ll love to travel and see more things, especially, try different food. Talking about potatoes for breakfast, I can’t make it with eggs as good as you did for Tony when he was growing up. I have made it several times, it was always close, but not the same. What is your secret? Thuy
Love the gardens and beautiful pictures! The flowers that look like giant dandelions made me feel like I was in “Honey I Shrunk the Kids!” 😂 The meditation bench shot has really nice composition! 👍
Jilly, your pictures of these gardens are breathtaking, and your writing reminds us how lucky we all are to live in this beautiful world. Like all great gardeners, you appreciate both the natural beauty and the skillful cultivation that create a unique, imaginative, and memorable place for plants and people to come together in delight and meditation.
Oops: the site cut off the second paragraph, which is important because you should know what a gift your own front garden is to the whole neighborhood. Our visitors praise its loveliness and personality, sometimes taking pictures so they can copy ideas at home. Many an evening on the porch has been enriched by overlooking that prospect and welcoming passers-by who wend their way forward through the flowers and butterflies. You work hard on that garden, infusing it with memories and history, creating magical moments within it. Frank and I cherish it every day
The resort looks so homey and comfortable. The gardens are lovely. Looks like a lot of walking – and resting. Loved it, Sharon
