But why do we do that is the big question. There are many stories of how the day started. This is just a very short explanation :

We learn about valentines in school at a very young age. I remember how much fun it was to go to the dime store and pick out the valentines I wanted to give to my friends. Then, I don’t remember when, you had to start making them out to everyone in the class so kids wouldn’t get their feelings hurt because they didn’t get as many, or maybe even none.

It’s still seems like a good day to let people know you love and care about them. So this is my Valentine to all of you; because I do love and care about you all.

And you all know I love hearts and collect them. I see them everywhere in ordinary things all the time. So I searched my photos for hearts and put some different examples of hearts here

I have lots of my hearts that are actually hearts that are given to me. I buy a lot too!

Jerry gave me this heart long, long, ago, and it’s hung out in the kitchen ever since.

but some things just give an impression of a heart

do you see the heart↗️

Words of love adorn valentines

There are beautiful works of art shaped like hearts. I’d love to do something like this with all my broken and unwanted jewelry.

We’re told to take care of our hearts, so we’ll be around for our valentines. Are we all doing these things? I try, but……..

Some of us proclaim love with a ♥️ tattoo
“I love you Jerry, will you be my Valentine”

This has been just a sampling of the hearts in my life. If anyone wants to send me a picture of a heart to my email I would love to post them here on the blog. That would be so fun.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my family and friends

stay tuned

♥️jilly

These are wise words, hope you can read them ok.

Well, here we are in the cusp of another atmospheric river. Long Beach is predicted to get a total of 4-5 inches of rain. And baby, it’s cold outside. A good day to post on the blog, I don’t have any real news, so just thoughts and pictures.

We have been going to comedy clubs our whole married life. Laughter is the best medicine you know. We’ve seen lots of the kings of comedy in that time span.
Right now we are huge fans of lan Bagg. He’s a regular at the ‘comedy and magic club’ in Hermosa Beach. It opened in 1978 and we’ve been going there ever since. We saw Jerry Seinfeld there before he even had a tv show. Back then if you bought one of their t-shirts, you got in free on Tuesdays. We made good use of those, but they have discontinued that👎🏻

They have memorabilia in the cases.

This is from the ⤴️series ‘Raymond’ and this from Robin Williams’s ⤴️’Bicentennial Man’

I snuck a picture when we saw him on January 25. A definite no-no.🤫
He doesn’t do regular stand up, he cleverly talks to the crowd and gets his inspiration from the answers he gets. He remembers everything and works that into hilarious outcomes. I often get asked and even offer comments. He knows us and puts up with me raising my hand to ask him a question. It’s so much fun. He tickles my funny bone.

*he was runner up on Last Comic Standing’ in 2015. We watched every episode.

Did any of you catch the sky a week ago.

looks like a lot of airplanes in the air that day

We also had a pretty sunset last week

my latest puzzle, only 500 pieces.

Thanks for the suggestion Tracy, about the service that sends puzzles, you send them back, and then get a new one. It’s $25 dollars a month for unlimited puzzles. I’ll see if it’s worth it by how many I can do in a month.

Melody being a big girl sitting in a restaurant chair. She had her first taste of salsa.

Daddy’s showing his big girl Home Depot. “We’ll spend a lot of time here, you betcha”

when I was looking for pictures to post, I noticed the picture of Melody at Christmas that I hadn’t used yet, was on top of the picture of Jerry at her age in my photos file. They both have the same look on their faces. It just struck me as a good thing to share.

80 years between them.

We need this rain, so I guess we shouldn’t complain too much. Jerry and I don’t have to go out in it unless we want to, so we’re lucky. And we have no leaks in our 96 year old house, again, lucky.

Hope all of you are staying dry and safe if you do go out. The little news I watch, makes the roads look very dangerous.

I know it takes your time to leave comments after reading the post, so thank you for that. I still love doing this blog, so comments are icing on the cake 🎂
