Hannah, Javier, Melody, and their two dogs made it here on the 12th. Since nobody could accommodate all of them, we helped with getting an air bnb. We went to meet with them the next day. Melody was asleep, so we visited and met the dogs. Emily and Amy had came in the night before and slept over, so it was fun to have us all together. Javier went and got us all a ‘grand slam’ breakfast. We ate and visited as we waited for Melody to wake up. When she did we all got to hold her. Our very first ‘great’ granddaughter.

We got to spend more time with her at our house a few days later. She is just so adorable. Hannah says she is a very good girl, and we witnessed it, so I can vouch for that.
I had a great visit with her. I got her to laugh that delightful baby laugh.
Something else was going on that day, we were passing down the coach to Hannah and Javier. They were the only ones who wanted the coach, so we decided to let them have it, as they are starting their family. Hannah grew up with the coach and we had lots of good times with her in it. Jerry has taken excellent care of it and kept it good shape. It’s 30 years old but has had all major things replaced. He even had new tires put on for their trip home.
It’s bittersweet giving it away 🥲 But it was getting hard for Jerry to do all the necessary things to keep it in that good of shape. Javier is young and strong and able bodied to do those things. We have had so many wonderful and grand adventures, in all 50 states. And we have all those great memories. We hope they have the same experience.

Absolutely adorable baby! What a wonderful thing to pass on the coach that has brought you so many great adventures and memories – I hope Hannah and Javier and their family have the same. It actually made me a little teary-eyed to hear it. Love you, Sharon
OMG Melody is beyond beautiful. The pictures of you and Jerry with her are precious. The coach is passed down to a new venturesome generation. It is bittersweet but so generous and so fitting. It is good the coach will live on in loving hands rather than die slowly over the years in your garage. She will see more places and flourish with the sticky fingers of a little child patting the walls and windows
and sweet doggy breath of many dogs to come over the years for that family, their faces hanging out an open window on the open road.
Loved all the great pictures, especially of you and Melody. So wonderful you could spend time together. The coach has given you so many beautiful memories, so sorry to see it go. So generous of you guys and considerate to get new tires, too. Love, Celia

I’m a little biased, but I agree that Melody is absolutely fabulous. Glad you all had a good visit. Was a bit strange seeing the Coach in Hannah & Javier’s driveway. But I’m excited for them and the adventures they will have.
What a beautiful baby indeed! Jilly, she looks so much like you, especially in the last pic! And all of the pics were great. You and Jerry are great-grandparents par excellence! I love the way you both hold her and exchange gazes of great love with her.
The coach could not have found a better home. What a difference to Melody’s life: she will learn to love travel and experience nature as part of her heritage from you. Javier and Hannah look thrilled to have the coach, which will be a daily reminder of what fabulous grandparents they enjoy and love

She’s so adorable! The picture of Melody on bed reminds me so much of Emily at that age! We bought Rosebay when Emily was that little and we stayed in coach for several months while Tony fixed up the house. So much good memories…It’s very generous and kind of you to hand it down to Hannah and her family! I think the coach will bring them lots of joy.

Such a wonderful visit and we are beyond blessed. We have been on many outings with our little family in the coach already.
