this is a national momument on hwy 94 between custer and billings montana. it has a signifiant historical past.
we didn’t walk out there. there are stairs to climb and my feet aren’t liking stairs right now. i would have loved to see the carvings.
the visitors center looked very impressive. but it was closing as we got there. a group of boy scouts were camping in tents nearby. the history of lewis and clark would be right up their alley.
don’t you think these varieties of sumac would look good in your yard tracy?
did daryl get the blue spruce planted?
these trees weren’t marked, but i loved the contrast between them.
i guess jefferson was right.
our campground tonight was right next door
to a b-b-q roadhouse restaurant. guess what we had for dinner?
i’m not sure where we will make it totomorrow
so stay tuned to find out.

Looks like remarkable tree country- they were spectacular. Love the smatterings of nature, nurture and history you offered.
Didn’t we see this countryside in a Tom Mix movie?
Your posts are so great. Learning so much. The sumac trees picture beautiful. Hope the BBQ was good. Love, Celis
That sumac would look great in our yard. Is it always red? And yes – Frank Jr is now at the front of the line of spruce trees in the yard!
