hi, today is the running of the roses in kentucky, so i thought i would share some of my roses today. it’s the first bloom when almost every bush is full of roses.

my ‘distant drums’ rose is in the middle
here it is. we first saw it in oregon and i fell in love with it.
frank and linda brought over lasagna and we dined ‘al fresco’ under the trees
now back to the kentucky derby
we always place a bet with my brother, who lives in reno, for this race. we’re not followers of the sport like he is so i usually go by the names. i do like bob baffert horses, as he has a good track record. i have a trifecta with three of his horses running today. ‘game winner’ ‘roadster’ and ‘improbable’. if any one of them win, i win. celia bet on ‘maximum ‘security’and tactitus to win. it’s fun to watch the race on our big screen tv. we always make one trip to the sportsbook lounge while we are in reno. which is coming up.
the race starts at 3:52 on nbc. i’ll be watching.

Fun to see the gardens – everything looks beautiful. A bit chilly out here, but at least we have green grass now, instead of snow!
