first of all there is no place like home. even though it’s back to work cleaning, cooking, and yard work, it’s home. the coach is our home away from home.
we’ve seen all our friends and neighbors. went to dinner with dick and jessie and got my long island iced tea. the family is all doing well. we’ll have emily and amy this weekend. we even got to see jake when he was in los angeles for a gaming conference. we met him at his hotel in los angeles. we had a great time at dinner talking about old times and new. there are eight people in his company now. he’s doing well and still has his boyish charm at 45.

he brought me a copy of amanda’s beautiful cookbook. it’s very well done. there’s a lot of stuff i don’t know what it is, but i know fermented foods are a healthy item to add to your diet. i love the way it looks on the counter.

i definitely want to make this carrot cake sauerkraut, and then the cake. thanks again amanda for sending it with jake.

great picture amanda
our midas had a trip to the vet last week. we thought he had been in a fight and gotten a bite. the vet said it looked more like he had ran into something or gotten hung up on something. it’s a pretty big gash. his stitches are purple. i counted 11. poor midas.

stitches didn’t stop him from enjoying your gold can tuna ted. thanks for getting him used to the good stuff. when will you be sending more? haha. i told celia and to keep up with you, she bought another can. (not the gold can though).

he’s back to patrolling hos neighborhood from his perch on the porch.

i hope you all won’t mind if i post on the blog once in awhile. social media isn’t my thing but this seems to suit me. you have the choice to open it or not open it.
you all should know by now i love quotes. so i will probably insert one now and again. this is one of my favorites and hangs in the dining room.

thanks for listening – love – jill
Sounds a lot like a Garrison Keillor podcast!! “Levity from Lemon Street”. Love it. Happy for Jake and Amanda – and an update on Midas. Enjoy the grandkids. This is a magical, mystical time of life, isn’t it?
thanks martha, i knew that comment was going to be from you, and that you would be the one to enjoy a few off the cuff posts. and thanks for the name. you will be seeing ‘levity from lemon street’ from now on.
magical?????
Thanks, Jill, for catching us up on Jake and Amanda – I know Teddie would be so proud of them. I still pray for them as I promised I would. Loved to see Midas also because I don’t remember having seen him before – I know he’s doing well due to yours and Jerry’s nurturing. Tootsie is still hanging in there and I treasure every day God gives me with her…even with the incontinence – must be love. I like ‘levity from Lemon Street’ too – Marty always captures the essense of things so well.
glad you like the name too. it won’t be that often, just when it’s newsworthy to the family and friends.
glad tootsie is still with you. give her a hug from us. let us know if you need us to come over.
(where is that picture of you)?
So glad you got to meet up with Jake. He hasn’t changed much and still has . his boyish good looks. Amanda’s cook book looks really interesting and I like the cover, too. Poor Midas; sad to see those stitches, and glad he’s doing better. I loved the Swedish proverb.
it was fun seeing jake. i remember how much fun it was to babysit him too.
be well.
(you could add a picture too.)
Heeeyy, that’s me up on the blog!! It was great to see you guys too. Thanks so much for coming up and meeting me and for dinner. And hello to Celia and Martha and Sharon! Was going to add my picture, but don’t see how.
Hope Midas is doing well and healing up.
Love,
Jake
Awww I love the cat picture with grandpa! 😀
