we took hwy 80 through donner summit. it’s a very pretty road. especially when it’s snowing. but it wasn’t that day. it was hot. we stopped and i took a few pictures.

it was getting time to stop for the night and the traffic was getting bad and the nearest town was vacaville. i never thought we would be in vacaville for anything, but there we were. at the midway rv park.

we turned on the air conditioner and never went out after that.
it was going to be 110 degrees in vacaville monday. we were anxious to get into san fransisco for some cooler weather so we headed out. uh oh, there’s a goodwill. it wasn’t hot yet so we went in.

it was my birthday this trip.

it is cooler weather now
going into san francisco over the bridge our gps said we were off route. how can that be?

our first glimpse of the city

stay tuned
You make some nearly impossibly clear digital screen shots- impressive! Love your narratives and mixtures of photos between nature and information. Glad to be back home where I looked up my password and could respond with my name instead of ‘anonymous’.
Enjoyed the Donner Summit shots from the road, very nice scenery. Wow, 110 degrees in Vacaville. What a relief the A/C in the coach must have been. I’m sure you didn’t mind missing the sites that day, and were glad to go on down the road to cooler San Francisco. I loved the view of the bridge and skyline entering the city, what a great shot. Sis
Oh for pete’s sake – another Barbie. Sheesh. I’m never going to be able to walk down that hallway again!
