one day as we were going into town we passed a pasture with a horse and two little horses near the road. you know that what that means. “STOP JERRY” so he did and i got out to take some pictures. as i walked across the street the horse started walking to the fence. jerry brought be some carrots and i started giving some to him. the owner saw us stopped and came out to see if we needed help. i said no, i just wanted to take a picture and was it ok to give him a carrot? of course she said.

look at what herman had on his head.

the large horse was named ‘herman’ a 29 year old thouroghbred. he’s just a pet now. i didn’t hear what she called these guys.
i started to give the carrot to herman and then the two little one came over.

he didn’t like the carrot too big. so i had to make little pieces for him

what a joy it is to pet a horse and have him take a carrot from your hand.
the next post will be from sweet home where they filmed parts of the movie ‘stand by me’
stay tuned
The horses are beauties, especially the small guys, they are so cute. I know you love horses, Jill, so glad you got to be up close and share a carrot.
So glad you had a chance to visit horseys. Love the heart on Herman’s head.
Hmm…you sent the above blog on 8-23 – I just received it. Celia and Tracy had already replied 2 or 3 days ago. Don’t know why the delay, but I love the pictures of the horses. There’s something special about connecting with God’s critters or just sharing a carrot.
