we finally had our artichokes. jerry cooked them to perfection in the one big pan we have. it was the biggest and best artichoke i’ve ever had. with melted butter it melted in your mouth.

they do create a mess though.

as we got back on 101 we were moving along nicely. enjoying the trees again. then a familiar site.

lucky for us it was open. but look up the road on the other side. see all the cars. well that went on for miles. because of this.

we couldn’t believe they kept one lane stopped for so long. i was just taking pictures at random intervals. it was  r e a l l y  l o n g!
when we got to agate beach, the one we’ve found beautiful agates at. (they look like diamonds in the sand as the sun hits them). alas, they are no more to be found. Â i did find a few rocks.

watching the dog play in the water was very entertaining. and having chili dogs and beer with this view was alright too.

can we take this home jerry?
we made it to oregon
stay tuned
Jill I did not know you were just like Marty, want to take home everything you see. Jerry we need to travel with the semi following us to take home things are women. see you soon…
The collage you made is really well done! You are a talented storyteller and photographer, Jill. Chili dogs in front of the dog?
Glad you were going the right way – poor souls on the other side of the road. I see lots of pretty scenery.
Looks like the Schweethearts were blowing raspberries at the folks stuck in traffic. You made me hungry for a chili dog.
Where are you spending your birthday today???? HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. Love you, Mom!
That picture of the artichoke makes my mouth water! I love the heart rocks. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! 🙂 I LOVE YOU, MOMMY!!!
I’m craving artichokes now, looked so mouth watering. So glad you didn’t get stuck in that road construction and the road invited you on. The view of Agate Beach so beautiful from the coach. You search for beauty with your heart. I love that about you. No agates, but you found hearts in the rocks and fun in the frolicking canine. You prove it really is “A wonderful life.” Happy Birthday and hope you have a wonderful day. All my love, Sis
Hi Grandma! Its Amy! Happy Birthday! Hope you are having a wonderful time at the beach! That artichoke really is huge! Love the collage of pictures from the drive. 🙂 The beach pictures are really pretty, especially those heart rocks! The dog is funny! Its cool how the beach is right next to a huge forest of those tall trees. 🌲
Have Fun,
Amy 🌷
Too bad that driftwood won’t fit huh? Beautiful scenery. That traffic jam reminds me of when we were coming and going to and from Vegas last year. Horrible time for construction. Glad you made it through. And beer and chili dogs sounds incredible, I know what our welcome home meal with you should be!!
