we turned off hwy 101 in willits to go west on hwy 20 to ft. bragg on the coast.
a lot of the older small towns have these signs over the road. usually with their claim to fame.

lots of life’s beauty on these roads. this is hwy 20.
our next stop was ft. bragg. it’s the home of the famous glass beach. in the old days they dumped the towns trash in the ocean. after years of tumbling in the ocean it came ashore as little bits of treasure. but there isn’t a lot to find anymore. we used to find bucket fulls years ago. so we were part of the problem. uh-oh.

after an hour of beach coming this is all we found.

do you see yours ted?

the other town’s treasure is the ‘mendicino botanical gardens’.
is a marvel of someones love of nature. and it’s 47 acres.

stay tuned for those pictures
Glad your trip is back to good times and good roads to travel. Hwy 20 looks so serene. Michelle and I both enjoyed the pictures at Glass Beach and want to travel there, too. Your finds are beautifully arranged. You are always so thoughtful to remember Ted with a precious stone, which means so much more when it comes from the heart. These rare bits of glass, stone and trinkets truly are treasures now The critter is so cute. standing up to welcome you. Have fun.
Those are all really pretty rocks from the beach! I love the little green ones. That little animal in the brush was super cute! That beach is really pretty. I hope we can go sometime!

Hannah and I stayed in Fort Bragg on our trip up the coast – that’s where she first put whipped cream on pancakes. I really like the beach glass. Maybe not a bucketful, but lovely just the same.
are you sure that those rocks not little pieces of petrified poop?
Lovely place. As far as I’m concerned, all that glitters IS gold. Loved the picture of your welcome wagon buddy.
You always do unique things that I wouldn’t think of doing on my own. You sound more and more like a professional travelogue. So good.
I think Ray may be right about some of those rocks! They are nicely arranged, though.
