after a good nights sleep we drove into castroville, stopping at a vegetable stand to buy some artichokes. it is the artichoke capitol of the world you know.

we got some beauties. needed help getting them in the car.

we didn’t stop at any of the stores in town, but stopped to look at something interesting parked on the street.

it’s only $80,000.00 dollars norm. it was immaculate.
after leaving there we headed for san francisco hoping to bypass the city and get to santa rosa by 2:00.

but a wrong turn onto the bay bridge spoiled those plans. we drove smack dab into the city.
it was a wild ride to get out of it.
stay tuned for a few pictures of that,
Adventures lurk at the turn of a steering wheel. How you gonna cook them artichokes?
Ray’s going to salivate on cue when he sees those cars.
wwow Jill you look like your artichokes are growing. Love the pictures of the old Chevy cars. I always wanted a fifty-seven Chevy
I love Castroville. Still remember could smell the aroma from the artichoke fields when approaching the town. Of course, you have to buy artichokes before leaving. It may be a law. Thanks for sharing the cherry Chevys; they are beautiful. Have fun. Love, Celia
I don’t like artichokes – they make me choke…but I loved the car. I love all your posts and read them all at the same time so I’m just commenting on this one. I love the change in your banner – that picture is classic. I’m glad you’re having a good time – oh, those BBQ ribs looked soooo good. Love you. Sharon.
That’s a lot of artichokes! Hope the traffic wasn’t too bad in San Fran!
I really like those pictures of the red cars! They remind me on the cars in Grease the movie! π I wonder how many artichokes they harvest every year!
Have fun, Amy π
A reference to Grease from my 12 year old daughter – how cool is that?! Is there a Miracle Whip factory nearby?
