we called as soon as we got to las vegas to get our tickets. last time, they were all sold out by the time we called.
our tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained the signs so well, they almost came alive. they were all so beautiful in all their glory. the patina and rust on them gave them special colors. my camera couldn’t quite capture all the nuances

this is one of the first usage’s of this type of sign in las vegas. after neon and before digital. notice they welcomed seniors and gave away free coffee.

then

and then
a lot of the signs are red and yellow. that color combination attracts attention. think mcdonald’s, shell, weinerschniteziel, and all the others that use that in their signage.

stay tuned in case there’s more

yes, i think jill has a few more for you. isn’t she doing a great job?
OMG! You could make a photographic essay on an English sentence parsing class exciting, Jill. This is one of my top 10 favorite of your blogs. Love the past and present pictures. We celebrated Sharon’s wedding at the Tam ‘O Shanter, btw. I have pictures in the garage- I’ll try to find them.
Thank you for sharing this with us, i really like looking at this pictures and remembering some of the old time we have had in LV.
You look just the same in the old picture of You and Jerry, but what happened to Jerry….
Must be fun walking among those signs – they are big! Glad you had a good tour guide. Fun way to see history?!
Yes, Jerry, Jill is doing a great job. I want to go to the Neon Museum even more now. Love the black & white of you guys.
