we spent the first day our trip in our favorite way. staying the night at thornhill broom campground in pt. magu state park. it’s one of the first places we stayed at after buying the coach 23 years ago. and we’ve loved it ever since.
you’ve seen a lot of pictures by now. i hope you enjoy a few more.
we saw a beautiful sunset with the channel islands in the background.
here’s an attempt at taking a picutre of what was a beautiful moon at 2 am.
the next morning we watched the ocean and birds as we ate breakfast. not a bad way to start the day.
and of course we had to get rocks
this one was too heavy. so I picked out another one.
we drove into santa barbara and went to the mission. i’ll put those pictures in another post.
our next stop was the hitching post, our second favorite thing to do as we start a trip.
because jerry’s birthday is coming up, he got the lobster.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY JERRY”
this is not a good picture of our favorited waitress, but it’s the only one I took. she’s worked there ever since we started eating there. celia told us about this restaurant eons ago and we have loved it ever since too. thanks celia,
stay tuned for pictures of the mission

You do know how to start a trip! Happy birthday to Jerry and happy blogging and jogging to the both of you. Your route is some kind of magical again. You make it come alive for this wife of an armchair traveler! Thanks
Now your talking, this is really the way to go, no ship for me.
I left a reply to you Martha, but I don’t see it.so thanks again for such great comments. all comments bring me such joy.
so that’s why you didn’t comment on that blog ray. I hope you like this blog better.
The heart rock on the beach did look really heavy, but that wouldn’t have stopped Lucille Ball in The Long Long Trailer. I would have loved to be there with you at The Hitching Post, one of my favorites still. We just stumbled upon it the first time I ate there. I’m glad you love it too.
I really like the sunset photo – looks like a painting. Glad you’re on the road and enjoying your adventures. Miss you. xoxo
Happy birthday, Jerry. Great Pictures, Jill. God bless your journeys.
Miss you so much!!
WOW! All these pictures look super pretty and AMAZING!! Most of them look like professional photographs! And that 🙂 face truck is SUPER cute! (LOVE THE HEART ROCK!)
