after cereal for breakfast we went to the beach to collect rocks. we used to be able to stay right on this spot for years. then they added the signs.
some of the small treasures we found. moonstones are on the bottom right.
the hills are crumbling more and more. we had a hard time to find a spot to go down. the steps are gone. no, we didn’t go down here.
you can barely make out hearst castle in this picture. can you see the palm trees that surround it?
we stopped in cambria and had lunch at the main st. grill. we also went in the shop jerry used to sell his wind chimes but the owner wasn’t there. we wanted to go in the mission in san Louis Obispo but it closed just before we got there. one out of three isn’t bad.
guess where we ate dinner. two out of four is even better.
see those ribs in the front? they went to our table. yes chris, we ate a lot of meat this trip. no shakes.
stay tuned for the last post.

What a poignant trip. Bittersweet yet lovely. Nothing like good old red meat to make up for exquisite memories of bygone visits.
thanks for sticking with me to the end Martha. I had one more blog to do of the san Fernando mission but might not do that one. we are home now and on to other things. love you, jill
Welcome home! Happy that you had so many fabulous views on the trip!
You should blog from home sometimes. We miss your blogs when you’re not traveling. Love you, Thanks for all the pictures and comments.
thanks tracy, it was good to see you again. love, mom
you wouldn’t have to twist my arm to do that sharon. but it might create a monster. we do some interesting things at home that I would love to share. I’ve also wanted to categorize my pictures better and a do post of all the state capitols. or all the national parks. or all the presidential libraries. see what I mean a monster.
thank for all your comments and letting me know you’ve enjoyed the blog.
hope we get together soon. love, jill
I love how you enjoy your trips so much and how you share all the fun with us, Liked the pic of the spoils of rock collecting on the beach, especially the green sea glass. A visit to Cambria, too, a nice way to finish your trip. I really enjoyed this blog. I mostly love how you love life, and that you are my sister. Love, Celia
Ah did you have the French fries at the Main St. Grill? Those are to die for. I bet it must be weird to see landscapes change over time. Glad you were able to get out there!
