we saw the point pinos lighthouse from a distance. it wasn’t open.
we saw deer roaming.
harbor seals basking in the sun
our neighbor and friend kara, that you have all met on the blog, here she is with her daughter eva.
she gave us an envelope as we left the house last Friday morning. it’s something she always does. it’s a wonderful gesture since there is always a monetary gift inside. she says for emergencies or something fun. we’ll, we had fun with it. we had dinner on the wharf.
this is the restaurant at the end of the pier kara. there was not a person inside. not a good sign. so we went to the fisherman’s grotto, where we had eaten before. I had the sand dabs and jerry had the seafood pasta. yummy. THANK YOU KARA!
we saw a beautiful sunset.
and then we went to our campsite for the night. we woke up with the same view that we had from the green gables.
it’s such a beautiful day, we are going to take highway 1 to start home.
stay tuned, if you want to that is.

Same view Hah! Bet the breakfast was somewhat different…you guys are so inventive. Sorry cannery row is messed up. I always love the wildlife shots you capture. They demonstrate your loving respect for nature and and Her inhabitants. You’re also quicker on the trigger than me- those seals would have been packing up for supper by the time I figured out the shot. Now, I can draw them rather quickly. You and Sharon should have a gallery show on your porch and we’ll serve wine and cheese and forbidden fruit whilst you two hold sway on your point of view. Midas can sit there and keep the audience captivated with his capers. BTW, I wasn’t kidding about a showing.
Kara looks like such a lovely person. I already love her.
Good thing you didn’t eat at Rappa’s Harbor View – they only have 2.5 out of 5 stars on Yelp! Sounds like the food is just OK or bad, and the prices are really high. The only consistently good comment was about the view, but you’ve had plenty of those!
thank you for your beautiful words Martha. sounds like a good idea about the porch.
you would love kara Sharon, as we do.
i should start using yelp more. it was dark so we couldn’t enjoy a view anyway. thanks tony.
Too bad Point Pinos Lighthouse was closed, but glad you enjoyed your last day in Monterey. Liked the harbor seals. A nice finish to your day, dinner on the Wharf at Fisherman’s Grotto and a beautiful sunset.
