otherwise known as the carmel mission. there is a big at&t golf tournament going on at pebble beach, so 17 mile drive is closed to tourist traffic. darn.
this is a beautifully restored mission.
we didn’t get to see the lone cypress, but this is a pretty good example of a Monterey cypress.
where are you going jerry?
there was so much to see at this mission. a lot of rooms furnished as they would have been. this is just a picture of a picture of Father Serra’s room.
amen

Thanks this looks very nice, wish i was there. We are going to Las Vegas in 5 days. I will look for your fountain.
Holy place. I enjoy the factual snippets you always include because it makes the pictures more real and relevant. I always light a candle when I visit a mission or Catholic church. It is such an ethereal moment with God.
Feeling history – right where Father Serra walked and created the mission…and I know you’ve been to most of the other missions.
I lost my classysharon – I don’t know where I put it. but above post is from me. Love ya, Sharon
i’m going to need a picture of that fountain ray. wish I was going with you.
stepping in the door you feel your spiritual self. glad to see your smiling face Martha.
you’re never going to lose your class Sharon. now I want to see your smiling face.
I’m so glad Dad didn’t climb up the alter and stick his finger in the nice lady’s nose! …. or DID he??
did you think she looked nice? we’re trying to give up nose picking tony.
Loved all the beautiful views of Carmel mission, Mother Mary with baby Jesus a nice perspective. Must have been very peaceful there. Sorry you missed the 17-mile drive this trip, but just another reason to visit again.
