it rained off and on all day Saturday. the clouds were fascinating to watch. there are grape vines all along 101 now.
we stopped at another mission in soledad but it was closed.
we spent the night at Wal-Mart in salinas. it was so windy. check out the flag.
we had planned to go to the steinback museum, but it wasn’t opened. we did drive by his house but didn’t go in.
we did go in this house when we got to pacific grove. the green gables was our destination this trip. our favorite bnb.
won’t you come in with us.
the view from our room.
thank you for all your comments. as you all know I love to get them. you should be writing poetry Martha.
stay tuned

I like that BB also, some time we should all go there and play.
From Walmart to Green Gables- has to be a country song in there somewhere! You just need a pickup truck and just got out of prison and you two would be at the CMAs next year. The rainbow is so perfect.
Once I went in with you I wanted to stay, but alas had to return to beautiful downtown Baldwin Park (Ugh). Beautiful pictures. I feel the peace.
I liked the way you “walked” us through the BnB. I’m going to try that idea on our Italy trip.
thank you all again.
anytime ray. are you going to asilomar this year?
your the writer Martha.
it is so peaceful here Sharon. I guess that’s why it was religious retreat for so long.
are you going to a blog paula? that would be fun. since ray taught me, I can teach you.
The second photo of the grape vines, with the rolling hills and bright green vegetation, is gorgeous! I hope the Green Gables was as nice as you remembered it.
thanks tony, I liked that one too. I took it from the back window while the coach was moving. but yet I couldn’t get a picture of the octopus at the aquarium. the green gables is beautiful, but it’s owned by a big corporation now, so it has changed but still very nice.
Loved the pic of grapevines along 101, so green, and the shot of the seascape from your room at Green Gables, spectacular. I also enjoyed the “walk” through the Gables. Wish I were there, too. Missed Steinbeck Museum and Soledad mission, guess you’ll just have to go back again.
