that’s our room on the top floor on the right. the balcony room.
we got up and had a good breakfast. we met a nice couple that sat with us a few times.
we walked around town for awhile. my beloved ‘wooden nickel’ store is gone. I’ve been buying the best things there since we’ve been coming up here. we figured out that was 29 years ago. after the aquarium opened in 1984.
I did see something for you would like dr. betty. it was in an antique store and it was on sale for %75 off. of course it was $28,00.00.
I liked this one.
it was such a beautiful day we decided to see the butterflies. i’ts mating season, and it is very interesting how it all takes place. the male finds a female and attaches himself to her, carries her up to the top of the trees, and stays with her all night. in the morning she leaves pacific grove for the central coast, and he goes and finds another female.
that was a very pleasant experience.
our next one is the carmel mission.
stay tuned.

From Cinderella to Rapunzel. What no fingers in the mermaid’s nose? Or was their a sign saying “Pick the nose and you’ve bought it”? I like the frogs better too- I have a set of wooden ones just like them. The butterflies are magic and I didn’t know about their bizarrely romantic sex life, but then again, men…
Looks like fun to me, love the butterfly’s.
Love the photo of you two on the butterfly bench.
Marty should be a writer – for a living. Seriously. Wish I could get a good photo of a butterfly, but you got one.
she was too tall Martha. aren’t we getting too old for that? where’s your picture?
too bad you guys are in asilomar at the wrong time to see the butterflies ray.
we took a picture of someone, so they took a picture of us.
there were so many here it wasn’t hard Sharon. all these years and you still haven’t put in your picture. darn.
Love the butterflies. When Daryl and i were there it was a cold day and they were all folded up and still. Your picture is so cool. Thanks!
The male Monarch sounds a lot like the typical 20-something male of the Homo sapiens species.
the butterflies wait until the sun hits their wings to open. we’ve had trouble viewing them before too tracy. there is a really good place to see them in Pismo beach too.
he does, doesn’t he tony>
Breakfast at Green Gables, chatting with new friends, the walk in town, and visiting the beautiful Monarchs, you guys always find an adventure and fun wherever you go. Interesting about the butterflies, she has to leave town in the morning, but at least he stays all night. Little girl in butterfly costume so cute. The Balcony Room so romantic with that wonderful view. Wouldn’t the butterfly bench look great in your garden?
