we had a nice campground in redding and we woke up to a cool breeze. we had breakfast and we thought maybe we can do the museum and gardens. we drove over to the sundial bridge which is right by the them and i got out to take a picture. ok, it’s too hot still, let’s go.
we stopped at a goodwill on the way out of town. it was cool inside. and look what jerry found among other things.
and you wonder why I like goodwills so much? or do you wonder why I like peter rabbit so much?
the landscape changed drastically along 5, from all the trees we had seen in washington and Oregon to this.
we got off 5 to go to vina and drove through peach orchards. you never know what you’ll see when you get off the highway. but I like it when we see horses. and it seemed like everyone had horses.
the owner of the horses drove by while I was there petting her horses and I thought oh no i’m in trouble. but she was super nice and said it was fine to pet them. this one was her personal mare. it loved to be scratched. a lot of horses don’t. this white one wanted to smell me but didn’t want to be touched.
we found a great campground near vina. right on the sacramento river. it is so pretty. there is a train that crosses the river right at the campground. but we love trains so it’s great to see them go by. there is an osprey nest on the top of the trestle. there is an eagle nest in the distance. we saw a vulture on the river. robins, kingfishers, bats are all flying by. squirells are running around. boats zooming by people fishing. and three cats.
we liked it so much we stayed another day.
stay tuned

You guys make more lemonade than anybody I know! From hell to heaven in a stretch of highway. Really nice word pictures along with the story. I have to admit defeat over Peter Rabbit- I wouldn’t have held out to the Good Will and Ray would engrave in on our already made gravestone by hand.
That the way to do it. If you like it say longer.
the highway can take you a lot of places. defeat over peter rabbit?
beautiful campground. Very peaceful with lots of wildlife. I’d stay another day too. Enjoying the blog. P.S. I don’t much like thrift stores but I admire people who do – they find rare treasures for cheap. Lv U, Sharon.
I would have bought the one in the antique store and Ray would taken out the difference in price out of my hide in jokes and snide remarks if he saw it later in the GoodWill store.
Beautiful near the river. You guys are so good at finding picturesque spots. You didn’t say; hope you got some peaches when you drove through the orchards.
I have found a lot of treasures. you just have to dig a little Sharon.
oh I understand now Martha.
no not there but at farmers markets. we just bought a black watermelon to have at teds.
Haha that white horse look so suspicious, I don’t think he wanted his picture taken!
