we stopped in the little town of silverton. there was a store there that I loved and wanted to go back to.
it was this wonderful family owned store with wonderful things to look at, especially this red pyrex dish ware. (picture is from 2010). I was hoping it was still there so I could buy it.
but it was gone. nowhere in the store. nothing like it. because now it’s just a another junk antique store, with individual spaces, with just the same old stuff that is in all of them. what a disappointment. I didn’t buy anything. I did see this peter rabbit though.
silverton is the town that had the norman Rockwell four freedom murals. I put them in the blog last time, but I think they are worthy of another showing.
I think these are great and what a great thing to have in their town. what is the status of our freedoms today?
we got back on the road and headed toward Ashland. I sat in the back for awhile to stretch, something else you can do in a motorhome, and took a few pictures.
mooooooooooo
stay tuned

I enjoyed the Rockwell murals. Didn’t follow last time. Now your photo are the highlight of my day. You two should be crowned as Mr. and Mrs. America!
Marty always says if you like it buy it. It may not be there when you come back.
I always if it not here when I come back I didn’t need it.
thanks again for keep us stay at home people updated.
The ubiquitous McDonalds arches in that bucolic landscape… loved that you re-featured the Four Freedoms. It is true we are letting them slip through our fingers in the name of Homeland Security.
I noticed you slyly slipped in the reference to stretching – you are a motor home nerd. Keep it up!
You might have noticed I didn’t chide you about the dishes- had to bite my tongue though.
Beautiful little town. It is always so nice when things are still as you remember them. I could feel your disappointment. The Pyrex dishes were lovely. I’m sorry you didn’t find them. I wonder if young people know who Norman Rockwell was. The murals very nostalgic.
thank you anonymous. getting comments is the highlight of mine.
i’m going to remember that ray. we might have to start bringing a uhaul trailer though,
the murals are current even at their age. and yes Martha, I noticed.
good question celia. probably not, but they should.
