before we left prince George we stopped at the railroad museum. I don’t how many of you are interested in old trains, but we are and it’s my blog, so i’m going to post some pictures. no, just kidding, trains are an integral part of our history. which I like to include is small doses to the blog. this museum had a large section of how the first nation was talked out of the right to their land, here in prince George, and then swindled out the money promised. it was all articles and old documents that didn’t photograph well though. it was an interesting story how long it took and the shady practices developers had in dealing with the first nation. shameful.
this was our favorite train. it’s like the one we took to new York.
but not from these rather extensive menus.
it was so much fun walking amongst these giants. relics or artifacts? but definitely worth preserving.

I love the trains. – Sharon
thanks Sharon. they are tremendous to see in person. someday we’ll go to union station to take pictures. that’s where the trains we take are parked.
Loving the train pictures and history dose- always enjoy you merging adventure with history and facts. Guess the meals are pricy.
at that time I guess they were. I was surprise at the amount of choices on a train.
What are buckwheat cakes and kaffee hag?? I bet the food was good. Mmmm, I love breakfast! The door with the round windows reminds me of Titanic for some reason. Funny seeing Dad as a midget! Thuy sends her love and hopes you’re having a great time (obviously, you are!) She misses you guys – we all do.
not sure about that. if we can’t have eggs in a basket, we don’t eat a big breakfast. we are having a good time, obviously. we love all you guys. i always look forward to your comments tony, you have such a wit about you. mom
ps I wish tracy would comment too.
*Hello*
I love all of your pictures of trains. I hope you are having a good summer. I remember the time you guys let us ride in a train! 😀 It was an amazing experience. I really liked it and want to go on a train again with you.
I love you!
– *Amy*
i’d like that too amy. maybe we can take the train to san diego someday.
I love you a whole bunch! grammie
So funny – My eye also caught the “Kaffee Hag” item and i decided to google away. Here’s what i found “Kellogg’s once produced a decaffeinated coffee product? For a period of about ten years (from 1927 until 1937), Kellogg’s manufactured a 97% caffeine-free coffee sold under the brand name of Kaffee Hag.”
Now, now, Mom, I do comment. No need to get Tony on my case. 🙂 I missed this past week because I made a last minute surprise trip to Minnesota to see Daryl out on the farm. Have fun and I’ll keep watching.
thanks for the info. I wonder if the person that named that got fired?
hope you had a good time ‘down on the farm’. and thanks for all the comments.
