there is a lot of beauty on highway 16, the trans Canada highway. the traffic is so minimal, I wanted jerry to stop in the middle of the highway to take pictures. of course he wouldn’t. i’m glad we went this way instead of taking the ferry again. we took our time and stopped where we could to take pictures. I know most of you, if not all, will never be on this highway, so i’ll share some pictures.
we stopped for the night in hixon, south of prince George. today we have a choice of going to an old gold mining town or horse back riding. it’s a gorgeous day and since we are in not in any hurry maybe we’ll do both!
our route for today
hope you do something special on your 70th birthday too celia. and remember, for a month you’re 3 years older than me. ha ha.
we might ride horses or pan for gold, or maybe both.
so stay tuned

I also wish Celia a very Happy Birthday! These are beautiful scenes. I know I probably won’t be on that highway, so appreciate the pictures. Do Both! – Love Sharon.
thanks Sharon. we probably will.
happy birthday Celia. Just saw this post as we have been on baby-watch and awash in family drama.
Lovely pictures- and it’s guaranteed RAY won’t ever drive me there!
how’s Kendra doing? what city are you in?
We are in Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park- staying at the Flamingo Resort Hotel but tracking down the kids early in the morning so we only sleep here- such a waste of a remarkably comfortable room- however don’t want to waste the first time both sons and all grandchildren together at the same time in 15 years. Ingrid’s husband, Eric, has turned out to be one of my most favorite people in the world. Yesterday the OB said she was only dilated one centimeter so we are packing to come home. Been enjoying your adventures via iPad and our portable wifi machine.
thanks for the info. sorry you won’t be there for the birth, but what a wonderful time to have with your whole family. we camped in Rohnert park.
Thank you Jill – looking forward to seeing you and Jerry again too!
That GPS is cool. I like seeing where in the world you are. I like the little house too. I could get used to that.
I loved the look of that house. the horses belonged to the house.
we couldn’t survive without our gps. ‘ sam’.
