we left our campground and drove to ocean shores, part of the coastal area of olympic national park. you can drive out on the beach so we parked and had lunch. jerry is liking the capresse salad a lot now. we walked out on the beach for awhile. it wasn’t crowded at all. except for this poor guy. we never did see him get unstuck.
our gps showed it was ok to take the coast route, 109, through the quinault indian reservation to forks. so we went on even though it didn’t show it on the aaa map. we trust our gps, sam, and will follow him anywhere. almost.

we got 8 miles up and hwy 109 turned into a gravel road. now what sam? we drove through the small town, as everyone looked at us like we were aliens. the conditions the indians live in is deplorable. I didn’t take any pictures. we found the police station and they said go back the 8 miles, get on the moclips hwy. and it will take you to 101 just above humptulips. so that’s what we did
and found the town of quinault in the rain forest part of olympic park. we found this great campground . did you know seniors can get a golden age pass for $10 ray? it makes the national park entrance fees free and campgrounds are half price ray. so this spot was just $12.50 ray.
we left our beautiful camp and drove to the lake so stay tuned

We camped in that rain forest many years ago when Ray was in the army. He nearly drove off a mountain leaning out of the driver seat window (btw, he was driving and never took his foot off the gas pedal) to take pictures of the clouds. Your shots took me back to my youth- it was the only thing we could afford on a pfc salary of 79 cents an hour 24 hours a day- we even took our cat Susie with us all the time. She LOVED camping. Thanks for the memories.
thanks Martha. i’m glad you had a pleasant memory.
I guess I should thank mcdonalds too for always letting us use their wifi without buying anything. we park close and I can connect from the parking lot.
I don’t need to find a heart I know someone whit a very big. Keep on going I am loving this trip.
That’s my favorite campsite so far. Wish i could’ve been there instead of on the freeway today!
thanks ray. I know someone too. Martha, just kidding. you have the biggest heart but don’t show it to everyone.
it was nice wasn’t it. it is so green up here. won’t be long you won’t before you won’t have to do that.
