didn’t you say you were starting to learn about the missions? we stopped at one yesterday. there are 21 all together and we’ve seen a lot of them. they are always interesting, and oh yeah, a good place to take pictures. mission san Miguel arcangel was the 16th built in 1797 . we missed the tour but we saw the church and cemetery. the history of these being built is fascinating. when you think of the priests in their robes in the heat, and it was hot, dedicated to a cause of great significance to them. creating something that still stands today and is still meaningful.
we are in staying the at a beautiful campground in the redwoods of santa cruz for a couple of nights. today we are going to see the mission santa cruz and tomorrow we will see a woody gathering on the wharf. i hope to get some good pictures of that.
so stay tuned

Oh no . . . the nose picking has begun. That didn’t take long! I like the bells – something so peaceful about the look of bells. I wonder why?
thanks for all the great comments tracy. we are having a great time. it’s so much fun to be in the coach “on the road again”, can’t wait to get on the road again………
I don’t think God likes it when you pick a priest’s nose. You better watch out. I’ll show Emily this post over the weekend and let her comment. Going to the boardwalk? They have good garlic fries!
…oh, maybe Dad’s generosity inside bought him some leniency with the nose-picking…
maybe that’s his motivation
I like the bells too. I love the history with the pictures. Just as long as Jerry sticks to statues…. Sharon.
I promise he’ll stick to statues, but maybe no more priests. we’ll see because
we’re on our way to the mission now. bye
I am doing just fine here at home taking the trip with you. no i won’t send gas money. Have fun
You might have guessed it was Ray refusing to send you gas money! The last time I was in a mission I lit a candle and got pregnant after 10 years of trying. Watch out for those candles Jill, you want a kitty not a baby.
no gas money. want to make a payment on the fridge?
Hello Grandma, In my class we learned about the missions. We did mission reports. The mission that I did my report on was Missions San Francisco de Asis. We are finally out of school! Our cousins from Las Vegas are coming in one week! I hope you are having fun on your trip.
Love, Emily 🙂
🙂 Hello Grandma! Happy Summer! I hope you are enjoying your trip so far. School if finally out! I had a great year and at the end of the year my class gave our teacher, Miss. Moritz a good camera with the 500 dollars we raised. I’m very excited and I have a tingly feeling it’s going to be a good summer. I hope you enjoy your summer and have a good time. Have fun!
Love, Amy:-)
